My Story
I am a proud first-generation Ivy-League college graduate.
I am a published practitioner-scholar, most recently on Cultural Humility, the Cultural Formulation Interview, and First-generation College Students.
My professional areas of interest include:
-
first-generation college students, graduates, and professionals
-
working with individuals and communities of color
-
training emergent clinicians
-
DEI&B workshops
-
psychotherapy
-
advocating to destigmatize mental health in marginalized communities
I am the founder of Empire Wellness Group - a boutique practice that provides DEI&B training, professional development, and mental health services.
My professional experience also includes providing psychotherapy and supervision in union members' assistant program, residential life, and college counseling center settings.
Personally, I stand on the shoulders of my ancestors and family - who were kings and queens and are warriors, survivors, advocates, and pioneers. I am a(n) refugee, daughter, sister, spouse, mamá, aunt, foodie, traveler, gardener, and healer. I am bilingual and bicultural. I am passionate about my family and my career.
